CELEBRATING CULTURES OF THE WORLD
Letter from the Chairperson
Over the years, our projects and activities have enhanced community cohesion and the centre grew and became operating on a bigger scale. Every day we continue to help those in need and provide the best possible opportunities for people. To receive help and support, to gain new knowledge, skills and experience, to socialise, to share and exchange cultural values, to feel welcomed and valued.
We have united many charitable and commercial organisations for cooperation to achieve common aims and objectives. All the work that we do, is a collective effort. Our staff and volunteers go above and beyond in order to bring benefit to the local community. Running a supplementary school, delivering courses and classes, running various activities and hosting local, national and international events, participating in local council’s ceremonies and much more.
Our dedicated team are passionate about working together to help others, and we do our best to provide excellent work and volunteer opportunities and environment for our team. Our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries receive various awards and certificates from the council and the Mayors for their dedication, effort and achievement.
A gift to South Essex College - Unique World Map Painting
Celebrating Different Cultures Around the World
18th September 2024
The painting was donated to Best British Centre for the 'World Heritage' project. ‘World Heritage’ is an educational project covering history, art and performing arts; celebrating various cultures around the world.
The painting portrays the diversity of the world, with its intricate blend of histories, arts and cultures. It promotes cultural preservation and global unity.
Today, Best British Centre gifted the painting to South Essex College. Having it displayed at the college sends a good message to students about the benefits of having a multicultural community and represents that Thurrock consists of many nationalities and ethnicities.
The event was supported by
The college principal Brad Brooks,
Cllr Valerie Morris-Cook, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Partnerships, Art, Culture and Heritage
