World Heritage - History, Art & Culture Around the World 2023 - 2025
‘World Heritage’ is an educational project covering history, art and performing arts. Celebrating various cultures around the world, and its histories. Exploring history, art and performing arts. The project will enable cultural and educational exchange of values, knowledge and skills. It will help develop an understanding and appreciation of cultures around the world and bring awareness to multicultural diversity and community cohesion.
The project consists of providing various classes for kids, and an end of project exhibition. These classes provide an excellent opportunity for children to build a concrete foundation in history, art and performing arts; learn about different cultures of the world; enhance creativity and imagination; as well as develop confidence and social skills. The exhibition will be held towards the end of the project and it will celebrate art and culture around the world.
The project will cover:
History
Children will study various historic events around the globe. They will explore various continents (European, Asian, African, North American, South American, Oceanian). They will try to apply their knowledge in history in art and performing arts.
Art
Children will develop observational skills, painting and drawing skills as well as explore their creativity and imagination and express their ideas. All materials are provided. Children will study and recreate art of different cultures around the world.
Traditional Dance
Children will develop their dance skills and learn various traditional dances from around the world. They will learn about choreography, music, costumes and traditions of different cultures.
Drama
Children will develop their acting skills, body movement, face expression, voice control, and rehearse various plays. This will help them build confidence and develop stage presence. Children will recreate various international historic plays.
Learning objectives:
To explore art of various cultures (European, Asian, African, North American, South American, Oceanian). To develop creativity and imagination. To develop artistic skills such as painting, drawing, moulding, sewing, making 3-D objects. To gain confidence in performing arts. To gain knowledge of history, art and performing arts. To develop an understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
